of Virginia Press under the supervision of
George Eager and of his successor, Charles
E. Moran, Jr. The basic design was planned
by John Cook Wyllie. The machine and
hand composition and the layout were the
work of Mark Rinker with assistance from
Jerold Grizzle and the presswork was by
William Travis. The collotype illustrations
were made by the Meriden Gravure Company
of Connecticut under the supervision
of Harold Hugo. The binding was done by
the Charles H. Bohn Company of New
York under the supervision of Theodore
Tuck, using the Bancroft book cloth known
as Linen Finish 3350. The dust-jacket is
University of Virginia Press produced, from
halftones by Kiraly of Charlottesville. The
text type is Linotype Baskerville throughout,
12 on 13, with quotations and the footnote
10 on 11, and index 8 on 9. The display type
is Goudy Bold. The paper is Warren's 66,
70-pound, Antique Text. One thousand copies
