CHAPTER X. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
245.
[Who arm'd with Christ's commission goes]
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst, &c.
—x. 16.
Who arm'd with Christ's commission goes,
The world's fierce enmity to prove,
Will nothing to their rage oppose,
But meekness, innocence, and love:
'Tis thus we make the gospel known,
The wonders wrought by Jesus' name,
And force the wolves themselves to own,
“A Christian is a patient lamb.”
