Twelve O'clock.
The Dial marks the hour of Noon;The Men will come to Dinner soon,
And Gretchen takes the Beer-Mugs down
Into the Cellar, cool and brown.
The Bread is cut, the Soup is hot,
The Cabbage simmers in the Pot;
The Mistress scolds a clumsy Maid,
And Towzer dozes in the Shade.
