TO A SARCASTIC BEAUTY.
Your breast is heaped like mountain snows;Your cheek is like a blushing rose;
Your eyes are black as ripened sloes—
Like diamonds do they glitter.
I do not flatter like a fool:
The diamond is a cutting tool;
The rose is thorny; snow is cool;
And sloes are very bitter.
