Outside Shots
The key to the contest was the
tough Cavalier zone which kept the
Wolfpack from getting the ball to
their big men, 6-9 Paul Coder
and6-5 Ed Leftwhich and forcing
them to shoot from the outside.
The Wolfpack got off ten more
shots from the floor than the
Cavaliers, but connected on four
less.
Virginia out rebounded N.C.
State 44-39, with Bill Gerry leading
the way with 13. DeWitt had 10,
and Scott McCandlish had nine to
back up Gerry. Coder was limited
to four rebounds for the Wolfpack.
The win upped the Cavaliers
record to 5-3 in the conference.
They now turn their attention to
Wednesday's University Hall
contest with Maryland.
