FEAR

O hvnted eyes that haunt my dream,
Because before my harmless tread
Some timid creature of the stream
To-day in terror fled!
Dame Nature hath us all at school;
We live and move by laws austere;
But of all sanctions of her rule
The most abhorred is Fear.
