The strife was o'er!—he was again
The minstrel-boy, with maniac brain:
The strife was o'er!—the madman's air
Returned for ever—and Despair
Hath hung her cloud for ever there!
Again he climbs the mountain's height:
Again he hails departing light:
Again his soul is forth in strength:
Again his vestment flows at length;
Again the mountain-echoes ring:
Again his harp is wandering:
Again his chords are wildly strung—
And these the measures that he sung!
