Encouraging
The two Sesquicentennial Scholars now at
the University, Frederick B. Thompson
(mathematician from California Tech) and
William C. Seitz (art historian from Brandeis),
have proved fascinating in the discussions and
interviews they have held so far. Their
comments are tremendously provocative; their
outlooks are astonishingly fresh. They seem
gratifyingly "in touch" with the world. If
they are representative of subsequent visiting
scholars and other Sesquicentennial attractions,
the future is indeed bright. We
encourage everyone to attend the discussions
and lectures they will be holding today and
tomorrow.
