CHAPTER V. The poetical works of John and Charles Wesley | ||
66.
[The prophets old, and rough, and true]
So persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
—v. 12.
The prophets old, and rough, and true
Our patient types we see:
The prophets smooth, and false, and new
Protest “it need not be!”
But all who would in Jesus live
A daily death must die,
His portion upon earth receive,
His portion in the sky.
