[Thocht Polibus, pisander, and vith them]

Thocht Polibus, pisander, and vith them,
Antinous, vith monie wowaris, than
Did preis for to suppryse, & bring to schame,
Penellope, in absence of hir man,
Ȝit sche remanit chast as sche began,
To tyme vlisses happinit to cum hame;
That nane of thais as ȝit, do quhat þai can,
lang saxtene ȝeiris dowcht to defyle hir fame.
Ewin so, most sueit, discreit, and mansueit muse,
Remember on ȝour ȝoldin ssiruiture:
Thoill nane ȝour blaseme bewtie to abuse,
Thocht thai vith leing lippis vald ȝow allure;
Bot sen my lyffe dois on ȝour luife depend,
In trew luiff with Penellope contend.
