Too Powerful

The Wolverines really did
nothing unexpected, they just
overpowered the Cavaliers with "a
lot of talented people, size and
speed," according to Head Coach
Don Lawrence.

Michigan dominated every
statistical category except kickoff
returns, an area in which the
Cavaliers certainly gained much
experience. It need not have been
so bad. It could have been only
21-0 at the half except for a costly
pass interference penalty and an
uncovered kickoff in the closing
minute.

The Cavaliers escaped with no
major injuries, although defensive
linemen Billy Williams and Andy
Selfridge were hampered by ankle
sprains, and everyone who made
the trip gained plenty of experience
as both teams substituted heavily.
