EPITAPH OF MORNAI DU PLESSIS, IMITATED FROM THE LATIN OF GROTIUS.

Nobility of soul, by nature given,
Nobler than blood of proud ancestral line;
Skill in the laws of men, and truths of Heaven,
Maturest counsel; eloquence divine,
With Mornai here repose;—his tomb their hallow'd shrine.
