The Grecian Story | ||
'Tis Love, I grant, tho may withal protest,
Conjugal Flames do warm this faithful Brest:
And if thought Crime to Love, what Heroes (found
In choice Records) Offenders are renown'd.
Heav'n Love commends, Applauds, since chearful This
The Creatures Joy, and Conservation is:
World's grand supporting prop, large Spheres infold
Each other there; Vines th' Elm conjoyned hold:
Bright Sun does court the Earth in smiling Rays,
Till that her Fruit and Flowry Brood displays;
As tho were meant for Amorous, design'd
Examples both of Love to Human kind.
Your own Cheeks, Lips and Eyes such Charmers proving,
Chide pow'rful Those, but blame not Me for Loving.
