| Pharonnida | ||
A Syracusian army, that had bin
Against our strength often victorious in
A haughty Rebels quarrel, being by
Success taught how to ravish victory
Without his aid, which only useful prov'd
When treason first for novelty was lov'd:
Seising on all that in's pretended cause
Had stoop'd to conquest, what th' infeebled laws
In vain attempted, soon perform, and give
The traitor death, from what made treason live.
Against our strength often victorious in
A haughty Rebels quarrel, being by
Success taught how to ravish victory
Without his aid, which only useful prov'd
When treason first for novelty was lov'd:
Seising on all that in's pretended cause
Had stoop'd to conquest, what th' infeebled laws
In vain attempted, soon perform, and give
The traitor death, from what made treason live.
