Construction on Jefferson Park Avenue behind the University hospital has forced traffic along that road to use a single lane. A spokesman for the Charlottesville Public Service Department reports that the reason for the construction is the laying of telephone, gas, and water lines. He said the project ought to be completed by late next week if all goes well. He urged students to avoid using Jefferson Park Avenue in the meantime, to avoid the large traffic jams that have developed there.
