MOTIONS FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION

  • The following motions were unanimously adopted by the vote of all Visitors present:

  • 3551

  • (a) That the Finance Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 14 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real property for public purpose, or of the disposition of publicly held property, or of plans for the future of a state institution of higher education which could affect the value of property owned or desirable for ownership by such institution as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (3) of the Code of Virginia.
  • (b) That the Finance Committee go into Executive Session for discussion of Item Number 13 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion of investing public funds where competition or bargaining is involved when if made public initially the University's financial interests would be adversely affected as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (6) of the Virginia Code.
  • (c) That the Educational Policy Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 12 on that Committee's agenda for the discussion or consideration of personnel matters involving University appointees including employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, discipling or resignation of public officers, appointees or employees of the University as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (1) of the Virginia Code.
  • (d) That the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for consultation with legal counsel pertaining to actual or potential litigation, or other legal matters within the jurisdiction of the Board, as provided for in Section 2.1-344 A. (7) of the Virginia Code.
  • (e) That the Health Affairs Committee of the Board of Visitors go into Executive Session for Item Number 9 on that Committee's agenda for the consideration of legal matters within the Board's jurisdiction to include the consideration of Self-Insurance.

Following a recess for an Executive Session of the Board of Visitors, the Open Session continued at 3:30 p.m., on January 27, 1989.
