[Why sleeps, benumb'd, th' accomplish'd mind]

Καλα πεφανται.

Why sleeps, benumb'd, th' accomplish'd mind,
When social good craves virtue's zeal?
Whoe'er can benefit mankind,
Is heaven's trustee, for human weal.

To hide true worth from public view,
Is burying diamonds in their mine:—
All is not gold, that shines, 'tis true;
But all that is gold—ought to shine!
