Against Chelonus.

Why dost thou loth Chelonus so,
the name of lumpish asse?
The learned Lucius Appuley,
an asse he sometyme was.
But thou dost differ muche from hym,
(he had a learned head)

[81]

He was a golden asse perdy,
thou art an asse of Lead.
A manly mynd, and body of
an asse he had, we finde:
But thou a manlike body hast:
a doltishe asselike minde.
