[While Thou dost our souls restore]
Neither shall they defile themselves, &c.
—xxxvii. 23.
While Thou dost our souls restore
To their unsinning state,
Give us evil to abhor,
And every idol hate;
Nature's filthiness remove,
Filthiness of self and pride,
Only Thee that we may love,
And pure till death abide.
