FEBRUARY 4th, 1785.

Ye radiant Fair! ye Hebes of the day,
Who heedless laugh your little hour away!
Let Caution be your guide, when next ye sport
Within the precincts of the splendid court:
Th' event of yesterday for prudence calls,
'Tis dangerous treading when Minerva falls.
 

Alluding to Mrs. Montagu's fall, the preceding day, as she was going down the stairs at St. James's.
