Upon the Defence of Goleta, in Africk, besieg'd by the Moors.
Intrepid Spirits, who set freeFrom Flesh and gross Mortality,
By noble Deeds have mounted high
From this low Earth, and reach'd the Sky:
Inflam'd with honourable Zeal,
You bravely fought, and greatly fell,
And with your own and Moorish Blood,
Stain'd all the Shore and neighb'ring Flood:
