Good Defense
The Blue Devils also feature
a stiff defense and if an edge is
to be given the visitors, it will
probably be based on this department's
showing. Duke's
secondary now has twelve interceptions
in four games with the
thefts being shared by eight different
players. Andy Beath has
picked off three to lead the pack,
but Greg Wuerstle and Dick Biddle
trail closely behind with two each.
Thus it should be both a tough
and an important contest for the
two protagonists.
It should be a pivotal game for
the Cavaliers, for a win Saturday
would be a big step toward a
successful season. The Cavaliers
have an added incentive to win
when one considers the revenge
factor: Virginia has not beaten
Duke since 1958. Victory should
come more often than once every
nine years.
