I.
More then I am, accursed mought I bee,If er'e I did approch my dearest Dame:
But such a great respect was still in mee,
As ay feare was equall to my flame:
Suppose some sots spoyld of the sense of shame,
Or feeling of my honest Loue, will say,
And publiklie to my dispraise proclame
That I delight in loathsome Lust as thay.
You sacred pow'rs, I still inuoke and pray,
That all my speach turne poyson in a clap,
If either I by word or writ bewray
One lusting thought her beautie to entrap,
Let pale Enuie (faire Dame) admire and lie,
With chast desiers I serue and honor thee.
