Four Stay Unbeaten
Lou Pavia, John Pitas, and Jack
Johndrow, Kevin Michaels and
John Pegues maintained their
undefeated logs in Atlantic Coast
Conference competition with Pavia
picking up the only fall of the
afternoon, flattening Charlie
Williams with nine seconds elapsed
in the final period. Pitas was
victorious by 13 points and
Johndrow by six, but Pegues and
Michaels escaped with narrower
wins.
Sun-drenched Memorial Gym
accommodated several hundred
people for the match which saw
new combinations by Coach George
Edwards fail to alleviate the dearth
of consistency in the upper middle
weights. Denis Bittenbender went
down 13-5 while another newcomer
to the Varsity scene, Greg Lilly,
also lost. Ted Moore, wrestling at
177, found an aggravating injury
hampering and dropped a 7-3
decision.
