Dear Sir:

It has been brought to my
attention by the Inter-fraternity
Council that an injustice may
have been done to the University
of North Carolina by our fraternity.

The incident in question was
our fraternity's "Openings
Weekend" display which was
erected in competition preceding
the University of North Carolina-University
of Virginia football
game.

In retrospect, we realize our
display may have offended some
members of the University of
North Carolina. I assure you
there was no deliberate intention
to degrade or insult the fine
name or traditions of the University
of North Carolina.

For those of you who justifiably
misinterpreted our intentions,
I formally apologize on
behalf of Nu Chapter, Phi Epsilon
P Fraternity at the University
of Virginia.

Please convey this message to
your student body and other
concerned parties.
