[Thou wilt be merciful, Thou wilt]
And will not remember thy sins.
—xliii. 25.
Thou wilt be merciful, Thou wilt
No longer bear in mind
My old, or new-contracted guilt,
But cast it all behind:
My sins if I no more repeat,
When Thou hast cross'd the score,
Forgiving them, Thou wilt forget
And never mention more.
