Meaney Leads Scorers

Jay Meaney hit on two
goals to finish the road trip
with a team leading three. He
was matched in output by
Charlie White, a halfback who
was moved up for the game.
Crosby and Curme both
assisted on goals in the contest.

With a state record of 5-0-1,
the Cavaliers are tied with
Randolph-Macon for the
division lead in State
competition. A playoff will be
held at an as yet undetermined
site Monday afternoon.

Whoever wins the playoff
will host Madison for the State
championship. Right now, the
championship will be on either
the 19th or 20th of this
month, but the date is not
certain yet because Madison,
already the winner of the other
division, is supposed to play in
the NCAA Small College
Tournament.

Before any considerations
of the State championship,
however, the Cavs host N.C.
State Saturday afternoon at
2:00 to close out the
conference schedule for the
year.

According to a U-Hall
source, Gaughen will be given
the nod to start at goalie in
place of Peyton.

Although he scored a
shutout in his first game,
Gaughen may find it difficult
to repeat this feat against the
Wolfpack. N.C. State is led by
Somnuk Vixaysouk, the ACC's
most valuable player last year
and an All-American candidate
at forward.
