CXLVII. WRITTEN AT MR RAWSON'S, WAS-WATER LAKE.

Loveliest of hills! from crime and care removed,
Long these old firs and quiet roofs protect!
Deepest of waters, long these scenes reflect!
And, at your side, their lord, the well-beloved.
For modest Wisdom, shunning loud acclaim,
Hears Nature's voice call thro' it, and retreats
To her repose upon your mossy seats,
And in his heart finds all he wants of Fame.
