1050.

[Had not the Lord reserved a seed]

Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us, &c. —i. 9.

Had not the Lord reserved a seed,
A remnant saved by sovereign grace,
His judgments shower'd upon our head,
Had swallow'd up the British race,
Sunk us beneath the ambient wave,
And buried in a fiery grave.
