Snow
A soft wet blanket of snow is now protecting
the Grounds from the wintery nip
that is increasingly in the air, and the University
is preparing itself for the possibility
of a very white Christmas.
With snow comes slush and ice, though,
and we hope the University's grounds keepers
aren't so entranced with the
crystalline beauty of the season's first coat
that they haven't made plans to deal with
the blizzards that may follow. We remember
the winters past when the sort of snowfall
that a Northern city might have cleaned
up in a few hours remained to obstruct
local roads and walks for days.
