As a close Prisoner, in dark Durance chained,Dreams that hee walks, runs, ranges, at his will:
As a poor Begger, with sharp hunger pained,
Dreams that hee eats, and yet is empty still:
So, the World's Captives, sleeping heer securely,
Dream them the Freest, in their deepest Thrall;
Dream them abounding, seeming Lords of all:
Yet still are Beggers, and still Prisoners surely.
