Because of old, Historians would not Lie;They were rewarded with an Eulogie.
But now He all Competitors outvies;
Whose Pen is fertil, with the Rampant Lies.
What one Protests, others defie; how can
Posterity confide, in this; that Man?
No Sciolist to Blot his Species spares:
Scarce any Modern Author, Truth reveres.
