alone.
Was ever fate so cruelly perplex'd?
If Argene betrays me, I am lost.
I must pursue her yet, and calm her rage;
But who, meanwhile, shall pacify the princess?
My friend alone—but whither is he gone?
I'll seek him; Megacles at least will give me
Advice and comfort.
