The Tupelo-Tree.

The tupelo-tree, the tupelo-tree!
Who was it sat on the tupelo-tree?
The Mohawk fly and the Seneca bee,
Smoking a pipe on the tupelo-tree.
The tupelo-tree, the tupelo-tree!
Who had a dance on the tupelo-tree?
The Mohawk fly and the Seneca bee,
With wampum and moccasins fine to see,
And bells which went jingley jingley jee,
Had a green-corn dance on the tupelo-tree.
