Juvenile poems on various subjects | ||
Elysium next disclos'd its blissful bow'rs,
With heav'nly fruitage deck'd, and radiant flow'rs;
Celestial Amaranth eternal bloom'd,
And the bright Plains with od'rous scents perfum'd;
Thro' the gay Meads an amber current roll'd,
O'er sands resplendent as Arabia's gold,
On whose green banks the happy Shades reclin'd,
Quafft its sweet stream, and left their cares behind.
With heav'nly fruitage deck'd, and radiant flow'rs;
Celestial Amaranth eternal bloom'd,
And the bright Plains with od'rous scents perfum'd;
Thro' the gay Meads an amber current roll'd,
O'er sands resplendent as Arabia's gold,
On whose green banks the happy Shades reclin'd,
Quafft its sweet stream, and left their cares behind.
