Harvard Political Expert
To Give Lecture Tonight

Carl J. Friedrich, an expert in
political theory and comparative
politics, who until recently held
two chairs simultaneously at Harvard
and the University of Heidelberg,
will lecture here tonight at 7:30 in
Gilmer Hall auditorium.

The address, "Europe: An
Emergent State?", is sponsored by
the University Union. Admission is
free.

Mr. Friedrich has authored more
than 40 books and holds several
honorary degrees. He has taught at
Harvard for almost 40 years, and is
a past president of the American
Political Science Association and of
that groups international counterpart.

Previously, Mr. Friedrich was a
consultant to the U.S. military
government in Germany as well as
an adviser to the government of
Puerto Rico.

Karl Deutsh, who spoke here
last year, wrote of Mr. Friedrich,
"He knows more political science
than anyone in the world at the
present time."
