Cavaliers Rally

As the second quarter began,
Eustace was out of position and
Fred Graham scored. Then the
Cavaliers came alive as Dennis
Pushkin collected a goal with an
assist by Jim Potter. Potter then
scored himself. Making a good
showing after a long layoff, Frank
Quayle bounced a long hard shot
in making the score 4-3 at the half,
with the Virginians on top.

Obviously the Terps had made
some adjustments at halftime, as
they came out in the third quarter
and completely blanked the
Cavaliers while they blasted in
5 tallies themselves. Luck also
seemed to turn against the home
team as the referee began to
call a very tight game. Three of
the Maryland scores came when
Virginia was a man down because
of a penalty. One sure Cavalier
goal bounced off the pipe supporting
the goal net.

The last quarter was anticlimactic
as Virginia could not manage to
score again until the waning
minutes of the game, while Maryland
added two scores earlier in
the period.
