EPIGRAM CLXXXV.

[Of old their full-bottoms distinguish'd the fops]

QUOCUNQUE MODO REM.

Of old their full-bottoms distinguish'd the fops:
Who are known as well now, by the title of crops:
But altho' we may trace such preposterous degrees,
In the curlings of those, and the clippings of these,
We shall find in the heads, if fair judgment we use,
'Twixt full-bottoms and crops, not an hair's-breadth to choose;
The difference between 'em, lies all in their locks;
Those feather'd like Coxcombs; these trim'd like comb'd Cocks!
