SONG.

1

Lead forth into the morning, lead me forth,
Child with a gleam of morning in thine eyes;
For the dawn kindles, and the hawthorn-buds
Breathe now their earliest orisons of joy.

2

Thou leadest me, like joy, with wingèd feet,
Child with delight of sunshine in thine eyes,
Where wake the larks in meadows drenched with dawn,
To meet Love, led by Day, upon the hills.
