[Before Death's arrow shivers me and mine.]

Before Death's arrow shivers me and mine.
I'll offer votive incense to the man
Who tore Guilt's bandage from the public eye!
Who gleam'd conviction thro' a servile world!
And, like another energetic Paul,
Made Felix tremble on his straw built throne:
As Monarchs are electrically knit,
The shock of Louis vibrates thro' the race.
