Director Edward Stern has completed
casting for The Lark, the
next major production of The
Virginia Players, and rehearsals
for the show have begun. Written
by Jean Anouilh, The Lark relates
the story of Joan of Arc.
Appearing in the role of Joan will
be Marion Eisenberg, a very experienced
actress, whose most recent
performances in Minor Hall
were in Summer and Smoke and
in The Tavern.

Cast in the demanding role of
the Earl of Warwick is Chief Gordon,
while C. Linwood Duncan
will portray Cauchon. The part of
the Dauphin, King Charles of
France, is played by Robin Mason;
Peter Downey plays Beaudricourt;
Michael Grigsby the Promoter;
Wesley Simpers the Inquisitor;
Paul Kuritz as Brother Ladvenu
and Richard Cawley as La Hire.

Also in the cast are John James,
Douglas Uhlig, Barbara Kaplan,
Tina Sheppard, Martha Villmoare,
Richard Waddell, Barbara Elzinga,
Eric Singerman, Robert
Shimer, Sanford Warren, and Stefan
Lopatkiewicz.

The Lark will be presented at
8:30 p.m. March 13-16 in Cabell
Hall Auditorium. Tickets are on
sale at the Players' Box Office in
Minor Hall from 2 until 5 p.m.
