Hetzel and Johnson Star

Hetzel and Johnson were the
big guns for Maryland, accounting
for 53 of the Terps' points between
them. Johnson, who was held to
six points the first half, came
back with 19 markers in the second
to wind up with 26 for the night.
Hetzel, as well as being leading
scorer of the game with 27 points,
was also the top rebounder for the
Terps, and led them surprisingly
to rebounding dominance over the
Cavaliers.

The scoring duties for the Cavaliers
were handled by Norm Carmichael
and Tony Kinn, who
scored 18 and 19 points respectively.
Carmichael was the scoring
leader in the slow moving first
half, outscoring Hetzel with 12
points, and in the second half Tony
Kinn picked up the slack netting
15 points, most of them coming
in the waning minutes of the half.

The loss drops the Cavaliers
record to 6-14, with a 3-8 record
in Conference play, placing them in
sixth position in the ACC.
