REPORT ON SECURITY
In response to a question by Mr. Warren B. French, Jr., the President reported on the major effort of the University to provide greater security for the University. Mr. Alford noted a change in the practices of the security force in the direction of using diplomacy as a first approach to security problems.
The President pointed out that the University is working closely with the City and County officials to improve security. Also, some $45,000 has been spent for lighting of the University Grounds. Seven additional positions have been provided for the Department of Security in order to strengthen the department.
