[How should we place to Satan give]
Is thy servant a dog, that he should do this, &c.

How should we place to Satan give,
Or sin to such excess?
We cannot now the depths conceive
Of our own wickedness;
Ourselves so skilful to conceal,
So exquisite our art,
God only knows the utmost hell
Of the deceitful heart.
