RESIGNATION OF JOSEPH H. MCCONNELL FROM THE COUNCIL OF THE
WHITE BURKETT MILLER CENTER

The President pointed out that Mr. Joseph H. McConnell has tendered his resignation as a Member of the Miller Center Council, and that Mr. McConnell had served on the Council continuously since the Center was established.

  • The following resolution was adopted:
  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the letter of resignation from the Miller Center Council tendered by Mr. Joseph H. McConnell be and it is hereby regretfully accepted, effective October 6, 1979; and
  • RESOLVED FURTHER that expressions of appreciation to Mr. McConnell for his leadership and dedicated service to the University, be transmitted to him.
  • The President noted that the Board will elect a replacement for Mr. McConnell at a future meeting.
