LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted:

RESOLVED by the Board of Visitors of The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia
that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:

Miss Lia Beretta, Assistant Professor of Modern Foreign Languages (Italian), for one year,
effective 1 September 1964, without pay, to continue her study in the field of Italian literature
in Italy.

Mr. J. Russell Nazzaro, Associate Professor of Psychology, for one year, effective 1 September
1964, without pay, to accept a Fulbright grant to Brazil to assist in establishing a Department
of Psychology at the University of Brasilia.

Mr. Alan S. Peirce, Professor of Biology, for one year, effective 1 September 1964, without
pay, to participate in the U.S.-Indian Women's Colleges Exchange Program, in India.

Miss Lois J. Reid, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, for one year, effective 1 September
1964, without pay, to continue her studies toward the Ph.D. degree at Duke University.

Mr. Glen R. Thomas, Assistant Professor of Psychology, for one year, effective 1 September
1964, with half pay, to accept a Fellowship at the Graduate Institute of Liberal Arts at Emory
University to complete the seminar requirements for the Ph.D. degree.
