[Thee Thy first disciples saw]
If thou see me, when I am taken from thee, &c.
—ii. 10.
Thee Thy first disciples saw,
When Thou didst from earth withdraw,
Prostrate they received the sign,
Then the plenitude Divine:
Still our faith with joyful eyes
Sees our parting Master rise,
Thus assured Thy Spirit shall come,
Make us His eternal home.
