THE NAIADES.
In the drift of rainbow'd fountains,
Where the brook its silver traces,
Thro' the campaign rich and fair,—
'Mid the sedges' languid faces,
Braided with ambrosial hair,
Breeding laughter, love, despair—
Mortals may not see our beauty,
Lest they die in our embraces.
