['Tis Memory's aid my vows implore]

'Tis Memory's aid my vows implore,
For she will smile when fortune's coy;
And to the eye of love restore
The spirit of departed joy.

II

O plunge me still, with magic art,
In soothing fancy's soft abyss;
And fill my fond, my faithful heart
With visions of thy purer bliss!
