I am Crystmas, & now I go my way.

Here haue I dwellyd with more & lasseFrom Halowtyde till Candylmas,
And now must I from you hens passe;
Now haue gud day!

I take my leve of Kyng & knyght,& erle, baron, & lady bryght,
To wildernes I must me dyght;
Now haue gud day!

& at þe gud lord of this hallI take my leve, & of gestis all.
Me thynke I here, Lent doth call;
Now haue gud day!

& at euery worthy offycer,Marchall, panter & butler,
I take my leve as for this yere;
Now haue gud day!

A-noder yere I trust I shallMake mery in this hall,
Yf rest & pease in Ynglond may fall;
Now haue gud day!

But oftyn tymys I haue hard sayÞat he ys loth to part a-way,
Þat oftyn byddyth ‘haue gud day’;

Now fare ye well, all in fere!Now fare ye well for all this yere!
